The Sonata, Chapter 1, is the first illustration in a series of Mobile Illustrations to capture Beethoven’s “Moonlight” Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor ”Quasi una fantasia”. I really like to let the music create the painting, and not my thoughts. This is a really cool exercise of listening inspiration. I am in no position to explain the story behind this series…I’m just letting the music control my brush. I do want to make one form of conscious decision tho, I am making all of these in this series black and white. Finding a way not to thwart inspirational flow with music is hard enough. Removing color from the equation, just makes it easier to focus on the music. Stay connected for the second part, Sonata Chapter 2.
